About Me
Hi! I’m Rocío.

They say I started talking before I could walk—words have always been my superpower. However, my passion for them truly ignited the day I discovered that people could communicate in completely different ways—different sounds, different structures… different languages! It was like someone had lit a spark inside me. Learning other languages meant more ways to connect, more conversations, and more stories to listen to and share. Even so, first loves are unforgettable, and that’s why Azote Ortográfico was born, as a labor of love for my native language.
Once I realized I wanted to make a career out of my love for language, I pursued a degree in English Studies, followed by a Master’s in Specialized Translation, along with a growing list of additional training courses.
I’ve been working as a translator, proofreader, writer, and trainer for over 17 years, and I still feel the same excitement every time I start a new project. Now, I also focus on researching CAT tools, post-editing, machine translation, and AI, with an eye on my doctoral thesis. But my true passion remains helping people ensure their texts convey their ideas with maximum accuracy.
At first glance, translation, training, writing, and proofreading might seem like separate worlds, but for me, they’re like pieces of a puzzle that fit together perfectly.
They all share something I’m deeply passionate about: language and communication. Combined, they allow me to do what I love most—help people connect with their words. And what a journey it is! When I’m not surrounded by words, I enjoy exploring my creativity in other ways: makeup is one of my favorite hobbies, and taking to the stage as an amateur actress lets me express myself from a completely different perspective.
